Unit 2 Areas of improvement and helpful projects

Unit2 is getting by and these are my thoughts on it:

  • What needs or areas of improvement and learning have I detected in my teaching?
In my Paddlet note i mentioned that i'm not happy with the time that my students spend  communicating in English and that i would like to increase students' talking time by enabling them to talk to their peers from abroad in eTwinning projects. I also agree with colleagues who mentioned the lack of ICT equipment as a considerable problem. Including projects in the regular school curriculum is a next challenge, too. 
A possible option is to involve small groups and do projects as an extra curricular activity and maybe to find one partner from abroad for a start. Though i participated in two projects so far, they were not finalized  and ended with posts on twinspace. That's why i think it would be easier to communicate with one colleague teacher to work on goals and steps of the project.

  • Our eTwindiary https://live.etwinning.net/projects/project/116666 because it is a clearly structured project, the topic is everyday life i.e. a real communication context, some of the tools used are: padlet, which i also used for the first time here on the MOOC and i'm happy to have learnt about it, voki, a greta tool for short audio presentation, Titanpad, for online collaboration on a document, ooVoo http://www.oovoo.com/ for group video chat and some more.
  • A night in the library    http://nightlibrary.blogspot.com/2013/02/our-picture-dictionary.html  , because it deals with developing reading habits and fully exploiting the texts we read. They used different book making tools, comic making tools, drawing tools.
